About 4-H

What is 4-H?
4-H is an educational youth development program which operates under the University of California's Cooperative Extension (UCCE). 4-H fosters self confidence and nutures leadership development and public speaking skills and a commitment to community service. The Youth Officers run the club with oversight from volunteer leaders as well as leading club meetings. And all club members benefit from "learning by doing" in a fun atmosphere. Members are encouraged to display their new found crafts and knowledge to the club and at fairs.

Who can join?
4-H is open to all youths from kindergarten through high school. "Primary" members are 5 years old or in Kindergarten as of January 1st of the program year. "Regular" members must be 9 years old or in 4th grade by January 1st of the program year. Youth are eligible until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 19 years old.

The 4-H Pledge:
I pledge
My Head to clear thinking,
My Heart to greater loyalty,
My Hands to larger service,
My Health for better living,
For my club, my community, my country, and my world.

Meeting Dates/Location:
La Graciosa4-H meets the third Tuesday of every month from September through June at Nightingal School .

Projects:
Club Projects are determined in advance of the September meeting when members have the opportunity to sign up for whatever interests them. Project dates and locations are determined by the project leader(s). Go to our Project page to get more information.

Registration and Fees:
Club registration is handled at the first meeting. The membership fee is $20 for the year. Additionally, fees may be charged for each project to offset costs.
